The Advisory Council of the Anambra Forum Stuttgart (AFS) is composed of respected elders and distinguished members of the community who have earned recognition through their wisdom, experience, and long-standing service. These individuals play a crucial role in guiding the association and ensuring that its activities remain aligned with its founding principles and constitution.
The Council serves as a source of advice and stability. It helps to maintain peace, harmony, and proper direction within the association. They provide thoughtful guidance to the executive officers, particularly in matters involving policy interpretation, dispute resolution, and long-term planning. Their insights, drawn from years of experience in leadership and community life, help the executives make sound, balanced, and inclusive decisions.
While the Advisory Council offers wise counsel, it does not exercise direct authority over the elected leadership or the general membership. Their role is advisory, not supervisory. They function as mentors and guardians of tradition; they help to preserve the integrity of AFS while respecting the democratic process and the will of the members.
The Council’s activities are firmly guided by the AFS Constitution and by-laws, which outline their duties, tenure, and scope of participation. Through this structure, AFS ensures that leadership remains accountable while also benefiting from the invaluable perspective and moral guidance of our elders.
