Culture is the soul of our people, and at AFS we are deeply committed to preserving and promoting the rich heritage of Anambra and the Igbo nation. We value our language, music, dance, food, attire, and customs, recognizing them as treasures that connect us to our ancestors and define who we are.
We celebrate important cultural events such as the New Yam Festival and other traditional days that showcase our unity and pride. These gatherings remind us of home, bringing back the sights, sounds, and tastes of Anambra to the heart of Germany.
AFS also encourages members to speak Igbo at home and teach their children both simple and complex phrases. This is to ensure that the language lives on from generation to generation. Within our gatherings, we uphold the respect of elders, the protection of women and children, and the dignity of family values that lie at the core of our traditions.
We welcome everyone, members, friends, and guests, who honour and appreciate these values. In doing so, we keep our identity alive while sharing its beauty with others.
